Course description:
The 5 day, 40hr TCOLE #2222 Firearms Instructor course is designed around current TCOLE Firearms Instructors course requirements. This is for TCOLE Basic Instructors who are already familiar with the duty handgun, patrol rifle, shotgun and revolver (rifle & revolver are familiarization required only). By state requirements there will be a Handgun and Shotgun qualification at the beginning of the course which all instructors must pass with a 90% to begin the course. I suggest finding the TCOLE qualification and practicing it before the course. This course is designed by a veteran TCOLE instructor to insure that instruction, qualification, implementation, policy and firearms program development will successfully withstand any vetting processes. This course will cover multiple areas including but not limited to:
• Utilization and benefits of Fundamentals of Marksmanship (handgun, rifle etc.)
• Policy development and implementation
• Common shooter issues, shooter analysis
• Firearms proficiency testing, day/low light standards
• Firearms safety rules, proper safety briefs
• TCOLE Firearms Instructor requirements
Focus will be on the fundamental skills you need to be an effective Firearms Instructor teaching firearms in real world applications. We have packed this course with instructor information to help make you a better instructor. You will leave the course with a greater understanding and more advanced instructor skill level.
