Course description:

This TCOLE Low Light Instructor course is designed around current TCOLE Firearms Instructors who are interested in low light and no light illumination tactics. This course will explore handheld illumination as it applies to rifle and pistol techniques and tactics. It will also encompass weapon mounted light deployment of both the rifle and handgun. It will cover common handheld techniques with their advantages and disadvantages. This is a great course for firearms instructors who want to teach low light/no light firearms courses. This course is designed by a veteran TCOLE instructor to insure that instruction, implementation, policy and program development will successfully withstand any vetting processes. TCOLE credit will be posted by the host agency upon completion of course. This course will cover multiple areas including but not limited to: 

• Utilization and benefits of weapon mounted lights
• Utilization and benefits of handheld lights
• Common firearms malfunctions/issues
• Policy development, course implementation and liability avoidance
• Handheld light gear placement and manipulations
• Handheld light techniques for rifle and handgun
• Common shooter issues, positive re-enforcements techniques 
• TCOLE qualification standards and requirements 

Focus will be on the fundamental skills needed to consistently and efficiently instruct students in low light/no light firearms. We have packed this course with instructor information to help make you a better instructor. You will leave the course with a greater understanding and more advanced instructor skill level.

Course Prerequisites: 

• Hold a TCOLE Peace Officer License

• Ballistic vest is mandatory
• Reliable pistol with 3 magazines and 2 pistol magazine pouches 
• Patrol Rifle, 3 rifle magazines, 2 rifle magazine pouches  
• Handheld flashlight with belt holder 
• Weapon mounted lights are recommended
• Eye and ear protection
• Appropriate Range clothing 
• 400 rounds of rifle ammunition
• 400 rounds of pistol ammunition 
• Rifle sling
• 1 tube of  “chap stick” (shooter choice on flavor)

A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 will be required to hold a slot in the course if the course is not paid in full. 
Full payment must be completed 30 days prior to the start of the course. 
GT’s requires a minimum of 30 days cancelation notification to be given via email for anyone who has fully paid but can’t attend the course. This will need to be completed to be credited the refundable portion of the course fees. Any course cancelation notices via text or by phone will not be accepted.
Cancelations less than 30 days are non-refundable
